Seit Mai 2016 hält Prof. Dr. Hanna Hottenrott die Professur für Innovationsökonomik an der TUM School of Management der Technischen Universität München inne. Zuvor war sie Juniorprofessorin für Volkswirtschaftslehre, insbesondere angewandte Industrieökonomik, am Düsseldorfer Institut für Wettbewerbsökonomik (DICE) an der Heinrich-Heine Universität.
Von 2006 bis 2010 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Forschungsbereich Managerial Economics, Strategy and Innovation an der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Katholischen Universität Leuven (K.U. Leuven) in Belgien. Sie absolvierte dort das Doktorandenprogramm, das sie mit ihrer Promotion im Mai 2010 erfolgreich abschloss. Im Anschluss war sie bis zu ihrem Ruf an die Heinrich-Heine-Universität als Hochschulassistentin und Stipendiatin der Flämischen Forschungsgemeinschaft an der K.U. Leuven tätig.
Prof. Dr. Hottenrott studierte Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Heidelberg mit den Schwerpunkten Industrieökonomik, Statistik und Finanzierung. Während ihres Studiums verbrachte sie ein Jahr an der University of Sussex.
Seit März 2008 ist Hanna Hottenrott Research Associate am ZEW. Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen in den Bereichen der Industrieökonomik und der angewandten Mikroökonometrie, insbesondere arbeitet zu den Themen Innovations- und Wissenschaftsökonomik.
