Am 27. September 2010 wurde die erste Wettbewerbsrunde zur Projektvergabe abgeschlossen. Insgesamt gingen 23 Projektanträge von ZEW-Mitarbeitern in Kooperation mit renommierten internationalen Forschern ein. Die Anträge wurden einer externen Evaluation unterzogen, die durch das Scientific Board des SEEK-Forschungsprogramms erfolgte.

Mitglieder des Scientific Boards sind unter anderem Daron Acemoglu (MIT), Bronwyn Hall (University of California at Berkeley & Maastricht University), Kai Konrad (MPI München), Josh Lerner (Harvard Business School), Steve Machin (University College London), Pierre Mohnen (UNU-MERIT & Maastricht University) sowie Fabrizio Zilibotti (University of Zurich).
Folgende neun Forschungsvorhaben werden in der ersten Runde des SEEK-Programms gefördert:

  • Induced Climate-related Innovations, Crowding out, and their Impacts on Competitiveness
