The workshop objective is to bring together academics and policy makers to discuss recent research on the creation of sustainable growth in Europe. Especially the workshop aims to look at the influences of management practices, ICT, innovation and environmental protection on productivity.
Topics of interest
- What accounts for Europe's slower productivity growth compared with the USA and what can be done to improve it?
- Are policies that foster economic growth in conflict with environmental targets?
- Are there complementarities between different levers for achieving productivity growth – e.g. management and organisational practices, innovation incentives, and diffusion and usage of information and communications technologies?
The workshop is part of the project “Explaining Productivity Growth in Europe, America and Asia” which is funded by the Anglo-German Foundation and is part of their programme "Creating Sustainable Growth in Europe". In addition to the talks by the invited speakers, results gained so far in the project will be presented.
