Laura Pohlan is a researcher in the ZEW Research Group “Market Design” and in the research department “Labour Market Processes and Institutions” at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg. Her research interests lie in the field of empirical labour market research and applied microeconometrics. She is particularly interested in the analysis of search and hiring processes and the role of frictions in the labour market, with a special focus on the labour market integration of the long-term unemployed.

She worked as a researcher in ZEW’s Research Department “Labour Markets and Human Resources” from 2013 to 2020. In July 2018 she completed her PhD with her thesis entitled “Essays on Unemployment, Job Search Behavior and Policy Interventions” at the University of Mannheim. From 2008 to 2013 she studied economics at the University of Mannheim.
