The “Digital Platforms” research area is concerned with the functioning and the performance of digital platforms as well as the behaviour of agents (both firms and users) operating on them. It also deals with potential regulations and policy interventions in such markets. Research activities include diverse topics in a variety of markets, such as the regulation of hate speech in social networks, price discrimination and privacy regulation in online marketplaces, or career paths in online labour markets.
