In this project, a report on the topic of "Future energy market design - design of a competition-driven capacity market model" is being prepared.

The starting point of the report is a capacity market model in which, on a first stage, private actors trade decentralized "firm capacity", e.g. via certificates certified contracts, on a second stage, the state expands or optimizes the capacity portfolio, if necessary, and on a third stage, private actors trade electricity. The report addresses concrete questions on the design of such a capacity market.
