The research area “Education, Migration and Social Mobility” analyses economically relevant correlations between education, migration and social mobility. We focus on the impact of education-based social mobility – for example through educational programmes for children and adolescents with a migration background – on earnings levels, equal opportunity and macroeconomic development. In our research, we pay special attention to the long-term, cross-generational consequences of economic disruptions for human capital formation.
