Agentic AI in firms: An experimental study
Share this page
The current rapid developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) present firms with the challenge of swiftly weighing up the potential efficiency gains offered by new technologies against their often difficult-to-predict risks. Delayed adoption decisions can put firms at a disadvantage compared to competitors, particularly if the latter are already benefiting from the potential efficiency gains.
A new form of AI application is currently gaining significance for firms and public administration: so-called agentic AI. Agentic AI systems differ from traditional generative AI systems in that they can independently break down overarching goals into subtasks, process these, and in doing so draw on external and internal tools, data sources or software systems.
As part of this project, a representative survey will be conducted to assess both the current prevalence of agentic AI and how business decision-makers perceive these new technologies. A survey experiment will also provide insights into the importance of digital sovereignty in the use of agentic AI.
