Barbara Maria Beatriz Stage studied philosophy and economics at the University of Bayreuth and business administration with a major in business taxation at the University of Mannheim. In her master’s thesis, she analysed the effects of digitalisation on international taxation of businesses on cloud computing businesses.
In September 2016, she was admitted to the Taxation Track of the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business (CDSB) at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at the University of Mannheim.
She joined ZEW’s Research Department “Corporate Taxation and Public Finance” as well as the chair of Professor Spengel at the University of Mannheim as a researcher in September 2018. Her research areas are the international tax planning of businesses and individuals in the age of digitalisation as well as the empirical analysis of effective measures against tax avoidance. Her dissertation is supervised by Professor Christoph Spengel.
