ZEW-CS Financial Market Test Switzerland - Upward Trend Continues

CH Indicator of Economic Sentiment

The ZEW-CS Indicator for Switzerland continued its upward trend in October 2015. It rises by 8.6 points to a reading of 18.3 points, its highest level since March 2014. In this month’s survey only 13 percent of all the respondents expect the economic development in Switzerland to deteriorate further, 55 percent foresee no major changes and 32 percent anticipate an improvement. The ZEW-CS Indicator reflects the expectations of the surveyed financial market experts regarding the economic development in Switzerland on a six-month time horizon. It is calculated on a monthly basis by the Mannheim Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in cooperation with Credit Suisse (CS), Zurich.

The assessment of the present state of Switzerland’s economy has also improved, increasing by 4.4 points to a reading of minus 5.3 points. Thus, the respective indicator still remains in the slightly negative domain.
