Professor Dr. Dorothea Kübler is research associate at ZEW.

She works in close cooperation with the research unit “Market Design”.

Dorothea Kübler is the director of the department of Market Behavior at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and a professor of economics at the Technical University of Berlin. She studied in Philadelphia, Konstanz and Berlin. In 1997 she graduated with a PhD from Humboldt University in Berlin.

In her research, Dorothea Kübler uses experimental and game theoretical methods to examine decision-making processes and market design. In recent years, she has been focusing on the design of matching markets, such as the allocation of university places. She also investigates the influence of social and moral standards on market behaviour, and studies educational choices and discrimination in the labour market.
