Integrated Assessment of a Green Transformation: An Assessment of Economic, Social, and Technological Transformation Pathways

The project "Integrated Assessment of a Green Transformation: An Assessment of Economic, Social, and Technological Transformation Pathways" aims at identifying long-term pathways towards a sustainable low-carbon economy and society. The interdisciplinary project brings together researchers from economics, philosophy, and sociology. Work package (WP) 1 examines aspects of procedural justice in the transformation process from a theoretical perspective. Results from WP1 will be examined empirically using methods of experimental economics and experimental philosophy in WP2. Matching mechanisms for the provision of impure public goods are examined in WP3. Matching mechanisms have the potential to increase the feasibility of cooperation for the provision of public goods and can be of great importance in the transformation process. Aspects of technological progress and technological change are explored in WP4 in a dynamic general equilibrium model framework. WP5 investigates distributive effects of various transformation pathways at the household level based on a microsimulation framework. Finally, methods from sociology are applied in WP6 to identify possible obstacles in technology adaption by households and industry which could possibly be a hindrance in the process of transformation.
