The Economics of Entrepreneurship and the Demography of Firms and Industries

Workshop

Recently, the impact of formation, growth and exit of firms on innovation and structural change of an economy, as well as on the creation of employment has attracted increasing attention in the scientific literature. At the same time, an increasing body of literature analyses the origins of these firm demographic variables, such as entrepreneurship or industry life cycle.The aim of this workshop is to discuss recent scientific contributions to the understanding of causes and implications of firm formation, growth and exit. It will focus on recent theoretic andeconometric studies. An applied workshop will be organized on "The Venture Capital Market, Two Years after The Gold Rush".
