Prof. Dr. Adrian Hillenbrand

Market Design

Adrian Hillenbrand is a researcher in ZEW‘s Research Unit “Market Design” and Professor of Economics, especially Experimental Economics for Market Design at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He completed his PhD at the University of Bonn and previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn, as well as a visiting professor at the University of Mannheim from 2020 to 2021.

Adrian Hillenbrand is director of ZEW Co-Design, a platform designed to facilitate research with companies and organisations to combine excellent research with concrete practical challenges and to inform current policy discussion .

His  research is concerned with the design and structured analysis of sustainable solutions that enable market participants - such as organisations and firms, employees, and consumers - to respond effectively to rapid and transformative changes in (digital) markets and the modern workplace.
