Labour Markets and Social Insurance
Guido Neidhöfer is a Senior Researcher in the ZEW Research Unit “Labour Markets and Social Insurance” and DAAD Professor of Economics at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul. His research focuses on social mobility, economic inequality, the economics of education, and migration.
Guido Neidhöfer studied Development Economics at La Sapienza University in Rome and Public Economics at Freie Universität Berlin. During his studies, he completed study and research stays at the Universitat de Barcelona, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and the European University Institute in Florence. In December 2017, he completed his PhD in Economics at Freie Universität Berlin within the doctoral program “Public Economics and Inequality.”
He is a Senior Fellow and member of the Steering Committee of the College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research (CIDER), Jacobs Foundation Research Fellow 2023–2025, Visiting Fellow at the International Inequality Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE-III), and Co-Editor of the Journal of Income Distribution.
