The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Mannheim, will once again be participating in the Annual Congress of the European Economic Association. This is the EEA’s 33rd Annual Congress and will be held from 27 to 31 August at the University of Cologne. Running in parallel to the EEA conference will be the 71st Annual European Meeting of the Econometric Society (ESEM).

During the five-day event, ZEW researchers will be holding a total of seven talks and lectures, during which they will present their latest research findings relating to labour markets, market design and corporate taxation. The topics of these talks include the effects of a rising number of asylum seekers on crime rates, the influence of administrative border reforms at the subnational level on the local economy, as well as the behaviour of bidders in a first-price sealed-bid auction in which they have limited information on the bids of other participants. In addition to these presentations, ZEW will also be represented by an information stand at the congress, where participants will have the opportunity to find out about career, collaboration and training opportunities at ZEW as well as the institute’s latest research findings.
