Social Inequality of Humanists on the Job

Social Inequality of Humanists on the Job

The core of the project is to take a look at the chances of humanists on the Labor Market. In detail, we want to study income level and structure, development of income, employment opportunities and risks of unemployment as well as the risks of education-inadequate engagement of humanists. The focus lies on the following questions:

  • Compared to other university graduates, what wages do humanists achieve in the run of their occupational career and, in particular, at the entry of it.
  • Do humanists have a higher risk of unemployment than other groups of university graduates? Is the probability of participation on the labour market additionally lower?
  • Do humanists find appropriate employment relationships on the labor market or are they displaced into other occupational fields?
