In this project, we conduct a macroeconomic analysis of effects induced by the increased use of biomass. In a first step, macroeconomic and sectoral indicators will be identified by a computable general equilibrium (CGE) model and passed on to models with a lower aggregation level. In further steps, iterative interfaces will be developed with (i) an energy system model to improve the representation of changes of the energy system in the CGE model, and (ii) an agricultural sector model to be capable of analyzing the use of biomass in a more detailed manner.

The project is part of the competence network “Modeling the Bio-Economy” which is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
