Evaluation of the effects of basic social care for job seekers with migration background in Germany

Evaluation of the effects of basic social care for job seekers with migration background in Germany

In a far-ranging reform to German social legislation, unemployment and social assistance have been joined into a common framework in 2005. In this project, the impacts of this reform for persons with migration background will be analysed in regard to three outcomes: 1) integration into employment, 2) individual employability, and 3) social stability. The research of ZEW focuses on differences in the first outcome between persons with and without migration background. The main task is to analyse whether potential differences are due to differences in endowments, differences in activities and courses offered by administrations, or differences in both.
