The mission of BERD@NFDI is to develop a future-oriented and powerful research data infrastructure for the integrated management of unstructured data and scientific software for its subject community. With this focus and a clear commitment to openness (e.g. open software, open standards), BERD@NFDI can form an important part for the development of the NFDI (National Research Data Infrastructure).
BERD@NFDI will coordinate and enable sustainable research processes by developing appropriate services. The service portfolio goes far beyond providing a repository for data and scientific software and is strictly oriented towards the needs of the scientific community.
The consortium, led by the University of Mannheim, consists of seven institutions, including infrastructure providers and research institutions focusing on economics and social sciences.
