The aim of this study is to update a report on key innovation indicators for the chemical industry for the year 2019. In a concise way, the study offers an overview on the state and recent developments in research and innovation in the German chemical industry as well as in science and technology related to Chemistry. In 2019, a special focus is laid on the start-ups in the field of chemistry.Indicators cover R&D and innovation activities of firms, chemical research and education in the public sector as well as economic results of innovation efforts (including exports of high-technology goods).
