Vertrauen im Überfluss oder doch lieber Verlässlichkeit? Zu Martin Hartmanns neuem Buch über das Vertrauen

Review of Martin Hartmann's book "Vertrauen. Die unsichtbare Macht". The debate and publication activities around the trust motif have gained momentum in recent years. Hartmann's study is only one of three books published on this topic within a few months (see also Allmendinger/Wetzel 2020; Michael 2019). However, it hits a nerve without falling for the often undifferentiated use of the trust concept. The starting point is the reflection on the increased importance of the concept of trust and the observation that trust appears so attractive because, at least at first glance, it is able to conceptually bundle the numerous experiences of uncertainty that arise in an apparently ever faster and more disruptive world.
