SEEK Workshop "The Economics of Public Support to the European Car Industry" (May 3, 2012, Brussels, Belgium)

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and the Catholic University Leuven (K.U. Leuven) are pleased to announce the joint workshop "The Economics of Public Support to the European Car Industry", scheduled for May 3, 2012, in Brussels, Belgium. The workshop takes place within the framework of the international research programme "Strengthening Efficiency and Competitiveness in the European Knowledge Economies" (SEEK), which is funded by the State of Baden-Württemberg over five years and carried out by ZEW. We will present preliminary results of the ongoing SEEK project "Fostering Competitiveness of the European Car Industry", which investigates the effects of public support of the European car industry on competition. Furthermore, the workshop brings together various stakeholders of the European car industry, representatives of EU institutions and national administrations, industry, and academia to discuss the issue of public support to the European car industry. Please note that only a limited number of participants will be able to attend.
