Stability of International Environmental Agreements - Empirical Evidence

Stability of International Environmental Agreements - Empirical Evidence

Within international environmental agreements coalitions of several countries are often implemented in order to jointly improve environmental quality. This project investigated the implementation and stability of coalitions. We considered different coalition rules such as automatically optimal choice of environmental quality inside the coalition or the least common denominator. The aim was to identify the rules that most effectively encourage cooperation.
