Parliamentary State Secretary Rezzo Schlauch (MP) Appointed New Member of the ZEW Supervisory Board

Rezzo Schlauch, MP, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour, was appointed member of the supervisory board at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim.

As member of the Green Party ("Bündnis 90/Die Grünen") he has represented his constituency (Stuttgart 1) at the German Bundestag since 1994. He will join his colleagues at the Supervisory Board in setting the strategic course for ZEW. Schlauch takes on one of the two new mandates added to the ZEW Supervisory Board on January 1, 2005, after the institute's admission to the Federal-Länder agreement on joint funding (Leibniz Association).

The other current members of the ZEW Supervisory Board are Gerhard Stratthaus MdL (Chairman), Minister of Finance of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg; Prof. Dr Dr Jürgen Strube, chairman of the BASF AG Supervisory Board; Prof. Dr Dr h.c. mult. Dr Egon Lorenz, University of Mannheim; Ministerial Director Dr Friedrich Bullinger, Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs; Ministerial Director Wolfgang Fröhlich, Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education, Research and the Arts and Dr Rudolf Kühner, head of unit at the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry.
