The need for care is universal. Ensuring the quality and quantity of care is an immense social challenge and a guarantee for social peace and justice that should not be underestimated. The lecture will discuss central aspects of adapting the care sector to recent and future challenges, such as the reassignment of responsibilities and the scientific foundation of the profession, as well as more influential participation of nurses in decisions in the health care system.
