The Beijing Humboldt Forum (BHF) is an international conference with a non-profit background and deals with the Green Economy and its interaction with cultural heritage. The event takes place every year in September at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in the capital city of China, Beijing. ZEW is a founding member and co-organizer of the Forum which offers a unique platform for interdisciplinary exchange between Germany and China.
Already today, digital platforms have a great economic and social significance and it can be assumed that this will increase even further. In this session we will bring together various aspects on the functioning and the performance of digital platforms, as well as agents’ behaviour and potential regulations and policy interventions. Researchers from China and the West present their viewpoints.
