Dean’s Teaching Award for Distinguished Lecturers Goes to Professor Bettina Peters

Dean’s Teaching Award for Distinguished Lecturers from Pforzheim University goes to ZEW Economist Professor Dr. Bettina Peters.

Professor Bettina Peters, deputy head of the ZEW Research Department “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics”, was awarded the Dean’s Teaching Award for Distinguished Lecturers at Pforzheim University on 23 June 2021. The professor of innovation from the University of Luxembourg received the award, which is presented annually, for her teaching commitment at Pforzheim University’s Faculty of Business and Law.

Professor Peters has been holding the lecture “Inductive Statistics” at Pforzheim University for more than ten years, where she has successfully supported the area of Quantitative Methods since summer 2007. Professor Torben Kuhlenkasper from Pforzheim University expressly thanked her in his laudation for her outstanding commitment to teaching. He emphasised that in her lectures, Professor Peters conveys the difficult material of specific statistics to the students with great expertise and strong didactic skills; the examination office also thanked her for her excellent handling of the exams she sets.

About the award

The Dean’s Teaching Award for Distinguished Lecturers at Pforzheim University honours excellent lecturers for their many years of commitment. The teaching award is given to personalities or entire teams who have been particularly successful in arousing students’ interest and imparting valuable expert knowledge to them. As in 2020, this year’s honouring of lecturers from the Faculty of Business and Law at Pforzheim University for their special achievements took place online again due to the pandemic.
