SEEK

Overcoming the Crisis in Europe is the overarching topic of this year’s fifth call for project proposals of the research programme "Strengthening Efficiency and Competitiveness in the European Knowledge Economies" (SEEK) at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW). One objective of the SEEK programm, which is funded by the state of Baden-Würtemberg, is to promote international cooperation projects between researchers of all economic disciplines. ZEW now welcomes the submission of project proposals. For each project, the requested budget may be up to EUR 200,000 for a duration of up to 18 months. Please submit project proposals, preferably as PDF file, to seek@zew.de no later than January 31, 2014.

The programme welcomes research proposals in the field of applied economics that address one of the following topics:

  • Innovation, firm creation, and new technologies
  • Energy and the environment
  • Inclusive labour markets
  • European Fiscal and Banking Union

Eligibility and Review Criteria

Project teams have to be composed of ZEW researchers and one or more external international researchers. Research proposals must be prepared and submitted by all project partners. For ZEW’s research units and contact persons, please see http://www.zew.de/research. Proposals will be ranked by a scientific board of distinguished, international scholars. The main criteria in assessing the proposals are: scientific quality, originality of the proposal, contribution to the main topic "Overcoming the Crisis in Europe", and strength of the scientific cooperation, including international exchange of researchers. The final decision will be made by ZEW.
