The project mainly tackles two questions. On the one hand, the incidence of seniority wages in Germany is calculated. We look if wages increase stronger in Germany with seniority than in other countries. On the other hand, we show if seniority wages have an impact on employment possibilites of older employees. Here we calculate if establishments with steeper seniority wage profiles employ or hire less older employees.
