In 2026, the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI) submitted its annual report to Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz for the first time. This year’s focus includes topics such as the implementation of the High Tech Agenda Germany (HTAD), the European single market, security-related research, and innovations in the higher education system. Professor Irene Bertschek and Professor Carolin Häussler discuss these topics in the new episode of “ZEW Wirklich Wirtschaft”. They are the chair and vice-chair of the EFI Commission.
