Fabian Oppel

Fabian Oppel is a press officer in ZEW’s “Press Relations and Editing” unit. Previously, he worked in communications at a market research institute and various companies for several years. He was also a freelance journalist for print, online, and TV. Fabian Oppel studied German and business administration at the Universities of Mannheim and Heidelberg.

At ZEW, he is responsible for public inquiries as well as for in-house publications. His work focuses on editing the ZEW Monthly as well as writing press releases and articles for print/online and maintaining contact with the media. As a science communicator, he works strategically on the further development of all communication channels. He advises ZEW researchers on how to prepare complex scientific information for the media.
