Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets

Youpeng Zhang joined ZEW’s Research Unit “Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets” as a researcher in September 2022. His main research interests focus on behavioural finance and household finance. He currently works on the topic of green finance, household consumption and savings, and the trading motives of retail investors. His dissertation is supervised by Professor Tabea Bucher-Koenen.

Youpeng Zhang obtained his master’s degree in economics at the University of Cologne and studied as a guest student at the University of Bonn. During his master’s studies, he worked at several research institutions, such as ECONtribute Excellence Cluster, Macrofinance & Macrohistory Lab at the University of Bonn, briq – Institute on Behavior and Inequality, and IZA – Institute of Labor Economics. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University and worked as a research assistant at Harvard Law School. In 2021, he joined the doctoral programme in finance at the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business of the University of Mannheim.
