Prof. Janne Tukiainen, PhD

Corporate Taxation and Public Finance

Professor Janne Tukiainen, PhD is research associate at ZEW. He works in close cooperation with the research unit "Corporate Taxation and Public Finance".

Janne Tukiainen is a professor of economics at the University of Turku, Finland, and an associate research professor at the VATT Institute for Economic Research. Previously he has also been a visiting professor at the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Janne Tukiainen gained his PhD in economics at the University of Helsinki in 2009. He studies industrial organization, local public finance and political economics, including the economic and political effects of municipal mergers, voting behaviour, political selection and election systems, as well as public procurement. He has published his findings in American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Public Economics, and Quantitative Economics, among others. He has also participated extensively in consulting, policy work, and media debates on the above-mentioned topics.

He is the editor of the Journal of the Finnish Economic Association and an associate editor of the International Tax and Public Finance.
