#ZEWlive: EU-Budget in the Focus of Panel Discussion
EventsEU Budget Talks: Webinar Series on the Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU
The structure of the EU budget is at the heart of numerous political and economic debates. In the face of growing challenges – ranging from climate action and digitalisation to geopolitical tensions – the question is increasingly being raised as to how the EU’s financial resources can be deployed in a fair, efficient and forward-looking manner. Addressing these topics, the #ZEWlive webinar series “EU Budget Talks” provides a platform for in-depth discussions on the priorities and reform options for the EU budget.
In a series of online events, experts from academia, politics and practice will shed light on key aspects of European fiscal policy. Topics for discussion include the distribution of funds among Member States, the role of the EU budget in dealing with current crises and the long-term prospects for a sustainable and resilient fiscal architecture.
The aim of the webinar series is to present complex economic interrelationships in an accessible manner, to put current political issues into context and to promote dialogue between the research community and the public. By combining academic insights with assessments from policymakers, the series is to contribute to an informed and objective debate on the future of the EU budget.
