Eighth Research Award for Promoting Young Researchers

In addition to prize money, the funding includes a research stay at the ZEW Mannheim

The research award “Zukunft der Arbeitswelt” (“The Future of the Working World”) will be conferred for the eighth time by the Volksbank Weinheim Foundation in cooperation with ZEW. With the award, the Volksbank Weinheim Stiftung and ZEW aim to honour young economists from the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region. The prizes will be awarded to the best doctoral thesis, endowed with 3,000 euros, and the best master’s thesis, endowed with 2,000 euros. The recipients will have the opportunity to complete a research stay at ZEW. The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2020.

What impact does the euro crisis have on the labour market? How can disadvantaged groups be integrated into the world of work? How can the work-life balance be improved in the future? Once again this year, the research award will honour submissions from a wide range of practice-oriented topics. Papers must be submitted by 31 October 2020. They must have been completed at either a non-university research institution or a university located preferably in the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region (Mannheim, Heidelberg, Landau). Interested young economists are invited to submit their doctoral or master’s theses to the Volksbank Weinheim Stiftung. To qualify for the research award, the submitted doctoral theses must be rated as “very good” and master’s theses with a grade of at least 1.7. Furthermore, the submitted theses must have been graded between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020. Submissions may come from the master’s student or doctoral candidate themselves or be put forward by their supervising professor.

Please send all submissions as a PDF file to info@volksbank-weinheim-stiftung.de.
