Two Gold Awards for ZEW Annual Report 2024 at ICMA Award Competition

Dates and News

The ZEW Communications Team has won two awards at the 16th International Creative Media Award (ICMA) competition. The ZEW Annual Report 2024 was awarded gold in the categories “Annual Reports Print” and “Infographics”.

Competing in an international field of 362 submissions from 23 countries, ZEW’s annual report stood out and received the double gold award once again. This underlines the high design quality and international visibility of ZEW’s publications.

The Annual Report 2024 is centred on the theme of ‘POWER’. Its visual concept is defined by a clearly structured layout with generous use of white space, concise typography and strong contrasts. A bright orange serves as a powerful accent and complements the corporate design colours, especially in the infographics. The cover makes a confident statement with the word ‘POWER’ embossed in bright orange.

The infographics in particular give the publication its character. Massive columns, clear bar and line charts and dominant graphic areas make the theme of POWER visually tangible. The deliberate use of black-and-white contrasts ensures high readability, while accent colours support the internal content structure. The graphics are visually striking and at the same time convey precision. Complex content is summarised and visually condensed.

With this renewed award, the ICMA confirms the design quality of the ZEW Annual Report and the consistent development of the institute's visual appearance.
