On April 10th, 2015, Professor Matthias Kleiner, President of the Leibniz Association, paid a visit to the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim - one of the 89 member institutions of the Leibniz Association. Whilst there, he caught up on the Institute's current research activities and showed particular interest in the work of the Leibniz ScienceCampi MaCCI and MaTax, in the framework of which ZEW and the University of Mannheim closely cooperate.

ZEW President Professor Clemens Fuest and ZEW's Director of Business and Administration, Thomas Kohl, gave Kleiner a warm welcome. They introduced him to the Institute as well as to its structures and explained the research agenda. Kleiner then met with the heads of ZEW's research departments. They presented ongoing research projects and explained their key research priorities.

A poster session by up-and-coming researchers rounded off Kleiner's visit at ZEW. Young researchers presented the results of their current scientific research and answered probing questions posed by the Leibniz President about their expositions.
