The research award ‘Future of the Working World’ 2020 has been officially handed over to the laureates. In the presence of ZEW Managing Director Thomas Kohl and former ZEW President Professor Wolfgang Franz, who gave the laudatory speech, the two winners received the award from Carsten Müller, spokesman of the board of Volksbank Kurpfalz. Every year, the Volksbank Weinheim Stiftung and ZEW Mannheim honour outstanding dissertations and master’s theses in the field of economics.

The award for the best dissertation, endowed with 3,000 euros, went to Dr. Martin Lange. Ralf Landeck received the award for the best master’s thesis in economics, which comes with 2,000 euros.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award ceremony could not take place at the Volksbank’s festive New Year’s reception this year and only a few selected people were able to attend. However, a video was shot which will soon be available on this page as well as on the websites of Volksbank Kurpfalz and the foundation.
