Personnel

Dr. Friedrich Heinemann, head of the ZEW Research Department “Corporate Taxation and Public Finance” was granted a professorship by the University of Heidelberg in the subject of economics in July 2010.

In his postdoctoral thesis, Heinemann looked at the influences that affect members of parliament when making tax policy decisions. His habilitation lecture addressed the question of to what extent the behaviour of tax payers and benefit recipients is solely driven by self-interest or whether it is also influenced by social norms.
