Just in time for the Chinese New Year on 12 February, the Chinese Tencent Research Institute once again published its annual list of the twelve most recommended books for 2021. This time, the list includes the book “Digitaler Wohlstand für alle” (“Digital Prosperity for All”), published by Campus-Verlag and written by ZEW President Professor Achim Wambach together with Handelsblatt journalist Hans Christian Müller. At the beginning of December 2020, the Chinese translation of the book was published by Social Sciences Academic Press in China.

The book by ZEW President Professor Achim Wambach and Handelsblatt journalist Hans Christian Müller is now one of the twelve most readable books in China.
The book of Professor Achim Wambach, published in December 2020, makes it into the Tencent Research Institute list of the twelve most readable books.

In addition to the book by Wambach/Müller, this year’s list mainly includes publications by US scientists, entrepreneurs and journalists, such as “Rebooting AI” by Gary Marcus and Ernest Davis or “Capitalism without Capital” by Jonathan Haskel and Stian Westlake.

The Tencent Research Institute, founded in 2007, is financed by the Chinese internet company Tencent, which operates the multi-purpose app WeChat. The institute’s research focuses on legal issues in times of increasing digitalisation, the internet industry and economy, and the influence of new (cyber) technologies on individuals and society.
