Decentralization, Institutions and Environmental Quality

The project dealed with the question, how the federal structure and the quality of institution in a (democratic) state influence the quality of the environment. Whether centralised systems are more successful in protecting the environment than federal ones were analysed with empirical methods, taking into account problems such as corruption and lack of transparency.
