Competition in the Food Retail Sector: A Structural Analysis

Competition in the Food Retail Sector: A Structural Analysis

This project provides an empirical analysis of competition in the German food retail sector. Combining descriptive evidence with structural economic models, the project examines how competition unfolds across products, regions, and retail formats, and what this implies for prices, market outcomes, and consumer welfare. The aim is to contribute to a better understanding of competitive dynamics in one of Europe's largest retail markets.
