MatchingTools develops market design software solutions for efficient and fair allocation processes in education and labor markets. Our initial focus is on the core market of daycare slot allocation.

Over the past years, the proof-of-principle software KitaMatch has been developed and successfully implemented in several German municipalities. In these settings, it has enabled a fast, fair, and transparent allocation of childcare places while respecting provider autonomy.

To ensure the scalability of the proof of principle, the software is planned to be brought to market readiness within the framework of the EXIST project.  The startup MatchingTools GmbH has been created to further this growth.
