The aim of the project was to record the innovation activities of companies in the state of Thuringia for the period 2021–2023, as well as to gather information on planned innovation activities for 2024 and 2025. For this purpose, an innovation survey for the state of Thuringia was conducted as part of the nationwide Innovation Survey 2024. The Thuringia Innovation Survey 2024 was designed as an "additional survey", meaning that the fundamental methodological elements (sampling frame, questionnaire, evaluation procedures) remained unchanged compared to the German Innovation Survey. The results were extrapolated for companies in Thuringia with five or more employees in the manufacturing sector and in predominantly business-related services, and were compared with the results for companies in Germany and in the other new federal states.
