Alexander Ehrlich

Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics

Alexander Ehrlichn has been a researcher in the Research Unit “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics” since May 2023 and a doctoral student at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He is also a Research Fellow of the Cluster of Excellence TransforM. His research interests lie in the economics of innovation, with a particular focus on innovation policy, the adoption and use of artificial intelligence, and their implications for firms’ productivity and innovation activities. In his research, he applies microeconometric methods to firm-level data.

He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, with a focus on European economic policy and competition economics. Prior to joining ZEW, he worked in economic consulting.
