Inequality and Public Policy

Professor Dr. Alexander Ludwig is research associate at ZEW. He works in close cooperation with the research group “Inequality and Public Policy”.

Since April 2014 Alexander Ludwig has been Professor for Public Finance and Debt Management at the SAFE Research Centre at Goethe University Frankfurt. From 2009 to 2014, he had been Professor for Macroeconomics at the Center for Macroeconomic Research at the University of Cologne. Before that, he had been Assistant Professor at the Mannheim Research Institute for the Economics of Aging (MEA). He obtained his doctoral degree at the University of Mannheim, with research stays at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and the University of California at Berkeley. Alexander Ludwig is director at the FiFo Institute for Public Economics at the University of Cologne, senior fellow at MEA, Munich, research associate at ZEW, and research fellow at Netspar, Tilburg. He is also editorial board member at the “Journal of Pension Economics & Finance” and the “Journal of Demographic Economics”.
