Researchers from the Fudan University in Shanghai visiting ZEW

From October 5th, 2010, to January 3rd, 2011, Weiqi Tang and Xu Dong from the "Center for Energy, Economy and Strategy Study" (CEESS) of Fudan University in Shanghai, China, will join the "Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Management" Research Department as visiting researchers. Their Research Visit is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within the national programme "Funding of Scientific and Technological Cooperation with China". They are visiting ZEW in order to establish a co-operation between the institutes.

Xu Dong, graduate student, focuses on the formation of oil prices. Weiqi Tang is a Ph.D. student majoring in Energy Economics. His main research interests lie in the field of energy markets, focusing on China. During their stay at ZEW and in co-operation with ZEW researchers, they will develop a Computable General Equilibrium Model (CGE-model) for China, including a detailed representation of the Chinese energy sector.
