ZEW Podcast with Joscha Krug
In response to a sharp rise in electricity costs, the German government plans to introduce the industrial electricity price from 2026 to provide relief for energy-intensive sectors. Brussels gave the green light for this in April. But is this market intervention actually effective? And what are its consequences? ZEW researchers Joscha Krug, Kathrine von Graevenitz and Elisa Rottner from the ‘Environmental and Climate Economics’ research department have investigated this. Joscha Krug explains their findings in the new episode.
The interview was conducted by podcast host Bastian Thüne. The podcast is available on all major podcast platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Deezer, as well as on the ZEW website.
