High-Level Closing Conference of the ENTRACTE Research Project in Brussels

Dates and News

On September 25, high-ranking researchers and decision-makers meet in Brussels for the closing conference of the ENTRACTE research project. Over the past three years, the project, which is funded under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme for Research, has analysed the interactions of climate and energy policy instruments. Coordinated by the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), the project brought together nine scientific partners from five countries, including renowned institutions such as the London School of Economics.

At the closing conference, participants will present and discuss key findings of the project on the effect of the European emissions market, its overlapping and its interactions with policies that promote renewable energies, as well as on the impact of these instruments on competitiveness. The conference will be attended by decision-makers like Jos Delbeke, Director General of the European Commission's DG for Climate Action.

Professor Andreas Löschel, ZEW Research Associate and professor at the University of Münster, and Dr. Oliver Schenker, acting deputy head of the ZEW Research Department "Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Management", will be among the speakers at this closing conference. The two researchers have jointly coordinated the ENTRACTE project over the past years.
